About K&S Wiring Systems

In June 1996, K & S Wiring Systems, Inc. was formed to produce and distribute electrical wiring harnesses for sale to the Nissan Corporation.

K & S Wiring Systems, Inc. began as a joint venture between five Japanese companies: the Calsonic Kansei Corporation, the Sumitomo Corporation, Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd., Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. These companies already produced various automobile components for Nissan, Honda, Toyota, and other manufacturers. The purpose of this joint venture was to combine the vast resources available from these companies and make the electrical wiring harnesses for Nissan in the USA, Mexico, and Canadian markets.

In July 2002, the joint venture ceased with the purchase of the Calsonic Kansei stock by the Sumitomo Electric Group. The current shareholders are: Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd, Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd., SWS America, Sumitomo Corporation, and Sumitomo Corporation de Mexico.

K & S Wiring Systems, Inc. has a wholly owned subsidiary, Sistemas De Arneses K & S Mexicana, SA, DE CV located in Mexico. The facility in Aguascalientes is the main manufacturing facility and is the main producer of the wiring harnesses. There are also several satellite manufacturing plants in Mexico. Sales of the company are made to support the Nissan plants for production of the various models.
